Collaborating for Quality: Highlights from QIIN’s Visit to the Standards Organization of Nigeria

The Quality Improvement Institute of Nigeria (QIIN) is steadfast in its commitment to transform the quality improvement landscape both in Nigeria and globally. On the 17th of July 2023, our President/CEO, Dr. Stephen Hati, and consulting partner, Mr. Moses Datoegoem, had the distinct pleasure of paying a courtesy visit to the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) in a bid to introduce QIIN, our initiatives, and explore avenues for potential collaborations that could further extend our impact. The QIIN team was graciously received by Mallam Farouk A. Salim, Director General/CEO; Prof. Olobayo Kunle, Chief of Staff to the DG; Mr. Tersoo Orngudwem, Director (Product Certification); and Mrs. Foluso Aina Bolaji, Director (Public Relations).

Presentation of QIIN’s Legacy Book

“Fundamentals of Quality”: Central to our commitment to empower individuals and professionals on their quality improvement journey is our legacy book, “Fundamentals of Quality.” This resource is a free eBook and online certification course designed as a springboard for aspiring quality professionals and a comprehensive guide for seasoned experts. (Find out more about the book here.) We were thrilled to feature SON in this guide and humbly sought their support for recognition on the certification course’s prestigious certificate. Our hope is to cultivate, in tandem with the SON, a generation of quality champions who will instigate positive change and foster excellence across all sectors.

Strategic Partnership Towards The QIIN Quality 4.5 Summit:

The QIIN Quality 4.5 Summit, our marquee event, is a grand gathering of individuals and influential stakeholders dedicated to uplifting quality standards across Nigeria. As we gear up for this year’s summit, we extended an invitation to SON to play an instrumental role in our quest to foster innovation, excellence, and consumer confidence through dynamic standardization and certification. We eagerly anticipate SON’s impactful presentation on “Navigating the Future of Standards,” underscoring their crucial role in shaping the quality landscape. Together, we can inspire change and collaboratively pave the way for a brighter, more quality-centric future.

Presentation of The SmartCertify Program:

At QIIN, in collaboration with our esteemed partner organization, Cademy Ltd., we proudly unveiled the SmartCertify Program. This innovative initiative offers a more accessible and cost-effective pathway for QIIN corporate membership organizations to obtain ISO 9001:2015 Certification for their Quality Management Systems (QMS). With Cademy Ltd.’s expert guidance and experience in preparing organizations for certifications through SON, we aim to empower businesses to achieve exceptional quality standards without financial burdens. This program epitomizes our commitment to supporting organizations in their pursuit of excellence.

Presentation of Memorabilia:

To acknowledge SON’s significant contributions in promoting quality products and services in Nigeria, QIIN presented memorabilia to Mallam Farouk A. Salim, the DG/CEO of the Standards Organization of Nigeria.
